In the first four months of this year, gplink has been ordered by dealers from coast-to-coast (welcome Hawthorne Machinery, Milton Cat, Ransome Cat, Alban Cat, Pantropic Power & Blanchard Machinery) and internationally (Finning UK & Finning Chile, Pon Power in the Netherlands, Sotreq in Brazil, CML in Taiwan, TSL in Singapore & Borusan in Turkey). All of these dealers have completed orders and will soon reap the benefits of the insights & selling tools gplink is able to provide to dealers. We look forward to working with you all!
Gplink is Going Global
Plug It In: International Adapter Makes Install Easy
Every gplink kit equipped with bilge, smoke & alarm system components now includes an international adapter, which is set up for simple installation of your RF kit around the globe.
You don’t need to do anything special when you order a kit outside of the United States – it’s plug and play just like it’s always been. There are no other components which require additional consideration when installing internationally; the gplink boxes hook up to an uninterrupted power source.
Commercial vessel kits, which do not have the RF kit, are ready to install.
Commercial Demo: Try it Before You Buy It
Our commercial demo program is extremely popular with dealers around the world. Here’s how it works:
- Present the gplink products to your prospects.
- Contact gplink with details of the fleet and request the demo form
- Have appropriate personnel from your clients’ fleet complete the paperwork
- Install units aboard demo vessel
- After 90 days, your client either pays for the hardware and first year of service or you remove the units and return the hardware to gplink.
This is all done at no cost to your customer, and we’ve found that gplink sells itself in almost every case.
Keeping Your Fleet at Your Fingertips
Simplify the management of your entire fleet by placing critical details at your fingertips. With our Fleet View feature you can view all your vessels, their location (worldwide) and alert status. This feature also shows a popup message of speed, heading, latitude & longitude for each vessel.

Little Footprint, Big Results
gplink’s tracking and monitoring systems for Cat® powered vessels play a significant role in helping fleets to optimize energy consumption, lower operational costs and meet sustainability objectives for reduced carbon emissions.
gplink provides a blend of hardware, software, content and expertise to enable efficient resource management and support both voluntary and mandatory carbon reporting. In addition, the telematics technology of the gplink system measures fuel consumption and determines carbon emissions from any Cat powered vessel.
Good Things Come in Small Packages
We get asked all the time how big the gplink box is. The gplink box is a tiny workhorse, with a footprint of less than 9” x 4” x 3” and one box located near each engine.
All gplink units need to be hooked to a continuous power source by a certified gplink installer, and are easily identifiable by the black, yellow & white gplink emblem on the box.
Retrieving Accident Info with Collision & Incident Reports
gplink is proud to announce the development of collision & incident reporting. While still in its infancy, it will work like this:
Your gplink unit will take a snapshot numerous times each minute of significant shipboard data. In the event of a collision, the box will instantly upload a detailed report of engine codes (such as gear position, speed, rpms and other information) which will assist in determining the root cause of the incident.

Vessel Security Integration with GPLink
Did you know that there’s an almost unlimited potential for security features which can be hooked into your gplink system?
The gplink system is capable of interfacing with up to 4 total onboard systems (one of these must be the RF receiver).
This means you can use the bilge and smoke alarms that come as part of the standard kit and still interface with your existing security system. If you interface with your shipboard security system you will then receive alerts anytime there is a security breach. If on-board, you can consult your control panel to identify the specific troubled area. If you are not on-board you will know there is an issue and need to send someone to look into it.
GPLink Helps Engine Dealers Stay Connected
Ron Lisoski, Product Support Rep with Foley Cat®, has recently had several commercial customers install gplink aboard fleets of vessels. By using gplink, fleet managers can select parameters to be monitored, which can also be accessed by their Cat® dealer, if they choose.
In this example, the client wanted Foley Cat to know how their engines were performing. Lisoski has been able to monitor them and request changes to reporting and vessel usage which has saved his clients tens of thousands of dollars per vessel, per year. Needless to say, the client has been very happy with the results.
gplink is always happy to make sure Cat® dealers have access to what their customers approve. This helps to take the dealer/customer relationship to a whole new level.
GPLink Has You Covered
gplink is proud to partner with the Iridium Network to provide you with the most reliable coverage available. With a network of 66 active satellites, Iridium is capable of providing coverage from the North Pole to South Pole and all points in between. We’re aware very few of our vessel owners need the arctic coverage, but most do spend time offshore well beyond GSM range.
gplink customers deserve the very best, and this partnership allows gplink customers to have the freedom to venture anywhere they choose knowing that we will have their vessel monitored.
We also understand privacy is a concern to our customers. We’re comfortable with the Iridium satellite network because it has such exceptional security features which are trusted enough to be utilized by the Department of Defense.
